Mr Burger Fitzroy
This is the first store realised from a new design identity we produced for the young burger brand. The new direction looks at the tradition of American diners and burger joints while reinterpreting recognisable materials and forms. This approach aims to express a more abstract space which functions equally across different periods of use, and also delivers a branding language through design. Taking over an existing food store on Brunswick Street, the layout works around original fixed elements to create an open space for both waiting and dining. The perimeter is ringed with bench seating and fixed tables that function as focal points for large groups and dividers for smaller gatherings. Conversely, fixed counter seating changes the dynamic for crowded times and connects patrons to the open kitchen and the staff, a rare condition for a fast food restaurant.
